Kanji Trainer 1.3

Kanji Trainer is a study application for learning Japanese kanji characters. Its main distinguishing feature is its set of mnemonic phrases, which are based principally on the etymological background of each character. Components, or radicals, are consistently assigned the same meaning throughout the phrases, and each phrase presents the constituent parts first and the meaning of the kanji last, which makes the associations easier to follow.

The application covers the 2,136 jōyō kanji and includes training for both reading and writing. Learners can work through targeted repetition of characters they have not yet mastered, and detailed statistical diagrams track progress over time. A collection of 500 radicals can be selected for study, allowing users to compare recurring elements and the differences and similarities between characters. Dedicated training modes focus specifically on radical recognition.
